We are not just thinking to go off-grid; we want to create a new grid that is decentral, cheaper, flexible and hardened against black-outs. We develop the idea from simple be “off-grid” to “Own your Grid” OG.
A large scale microgrid would be created from multiple stand alone off-grid units, our Plug’n’Free (PnF) series, that links together as a web. Automation also enables upstream and downstream energy management to address inherent fluctuations in generation from renewable sources. We call this “Supply Driven Demand Management” SDDM. You can trade your power in small grids with your neighbour or, in larger grids, on an exchange. You can decide to just connect with the larger community grid, or with your neighbour alone by isolating yourself from any other grid connection or go off-grid on your terms. Such a grid would not be possible to monopolise alike the actual common mains. Energy prices can only go down with the first movers being the most beneficials.
This is the vision from OG.NZ that has already the components and the recipe. The components are our PnF series with:
PnF tiny – 4kW inverter and 15kWh battery
PnF L – 8kW inverter and 30kWh battery
PnF pro – puts the PnF in a transportable package with forklift and crane option for commercial use
PnF 3-50 – three phase with 50kW peak inverter and 120kWh battery, also possible as a pro
Container mothership – three phase with permanent 60kW inverter and 225kWh battery

The newly developed OG-SCM will be now used to create our factory/farm/community microgrid. We do testing irrigation, machinery and other discrete tasks that resembles real situations in New Zealand power demands. RENTAL
The self contained built, combined with portability enables solar to become a rental. All units are basically ready to be rented out. But we are working on the next level of rental – you do not want inverters, batteries and panels – you simply want electricity! Our advanced computerisation cracks the nuts of intermitted power production and sets a dynamic price. The more scarce the power is in generation, the more expensive the unit becomes. This restricts consumption in low light and motivates consumption at sunshine. You can either shift your consumption into light hours or use our advanced automation to let your consumers decide independent, self programmed or AI optimised. If you connect into an existing microgrid, you would be able to sell power into the OG-grid and off-set the rental costs. This can be even profitable if you integrate your hydro or wind that produces when solar is down.
